Mr. William J. "Bill" Shearer passed away Friday, December 06, 2019, at his residence in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 92 years and 9 months. He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on Sunday, March 6, 1927, the son of Allen Ballou and Ladona Myrtle (Horton) Shearer. He was of Church of Christ faith, a member of Shearer Valley Church of Christ, a U. S. Navy Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, a certified master horologist and jeweler since 1950, and a member of the RECC Board for over 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Arnwine) Shearer, whom he wed Saturday, November 13, 1948, son, William Mark Shearer, two sisters, Allene Ramsey and Lois Sawyer, and a brother, Lynn Shearer. He is survived by his son, Kent (and Ann) Shearer, daughter, Donna (and David) Butler, daughter-in-law, Deborah Shearer, all of Albany, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Ashley Neathery, Lindsey Padron, Tyler Shearer, Leigh Evans, Lorie Musk, Hunter Shearer, Logan Butler, and Troy Butler, fourteen great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted Monday, December 9, 2019, in the Chapel of the Campbell-New Funeral Home with Gordon Shearer officiating. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Tyler Shearer, Hunter Shearer, Logan Butler, Nicholas Kreik, Brandon Musk, Bobby Evans, Patrick Padron, Nathan Neathery, and Troy Butler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the V. F. W. Post 1096 in his memory. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
