Wendell “Gene” Burchett

Mr. Wendell Eugene “Gene” Burchett of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at The Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 78 years, 4 months, and 10 days. He was born on Thursday, December 11, 1947, in Clinton County, Kentucky, the son of Perry Martin & Margeret (Johnson) Burchett. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ansel Burchett, Arnold Burchett, Junior Burchett, and Donald Burchett; sisters, Faye Bell, Francis Christmas, and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Ethel (Brown) Burchett of Albany, Kentucky, whom he wed on December 24, 1968; children, Michael (& Dorothy) Burchett, Jason (& Lorie) Burchett, both of Albany, Kentucky; brother, Fred (& Evelena) Burchett of Albany, Kentucky; grandchildren, John Burchett, Dustin Burchett, Cody Burchett, Dallas Perdue, Randall Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Audrina Burchett, Ezmay Perdue, Kayson Burchett, Maylin Perdue, Paisley Burchett.
