Mr. Tony Sloan, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Putnam County, Tennessee having attained the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 8 days. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Sunday, January 24, 1937, the son of Bruce and Lola Gay (Ross) Sloan. He was of the Christian Faith, a lifelong member of Albany First Christian Disciples of Christ. He was the owner of Sunset Marina and Marina @ Rowena. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John A. Sloan, Bruce R. Sloan, and Ned T. Sloan.
He is survived by his wife, Lola (Dyer) “Bettye” Sloan, whom he wed on Monday, June 10, 1963, nephew, Ned (& Denise) Sloan Jr., nieces, Vivian (& Greg) Sloan Talbott, and Vittoria (& Larry) Crosbie.
The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. in The Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Nevius, David Cross, and Tom Allen officiating. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Tom Allen, David Cross, David Dyson, Rod Parrish, Pat Waggoner, Don Stearns, Rick Mercader, Jim Miller, Tom Story, and Greg Talbott. Honorary Casket Bearers were Sunset Marina, and Marina Rowena Crew. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left with Campbell-New Funeral Home to the following organizations: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital, Gospel Christian Academy of Albany, Kentucky, or Clinton County Community Foundation.
