Mrs. Shirley Evelyn (Rednour) Smith, of Albany, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at her residence, having attained the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 22 days. She was born in the Alpha Community of Clinton County, Kentucky on Thursday, September 24, 1936 the daughter of Joseph Henry & Lillian (Neal) Rednour. She was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Davis Chapel United Methodist Church in Clinton County, Kentucky, and was a sign maker in Kokomo, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Edd Smith, whom she wed on Thursday, June 11, 1953, son, Mitchell Smith, brother, Bob Rednour, sister, Betty Haste.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (& Jim) Delk of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Craig Smith, Bradley Smith, Shelby Delk, Ethridge Delk, great-grandchildren, Jaren Smith, Gavin Smith, Brecken Smith, Camdyn Smith, Bentley Smith.
The funeral service was conducted Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Seth Denney officiating. Casket bearers were Jim Delk, Ethridge Delk, Ritchie Rednour Sr., Ritchie Rednour Jr., Jaren Smith, Gavin Smith, Brecken Smith. Burial was in the Davis Chapel Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The Davis Chapel Church Building Fund, or Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
