Mr. Shannon Gayle Mercer, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his residence in Clinton County, having reached the age of 50 years and 18 days. He was born on Thursday, March 6, 1975, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of Roger Gayle & Janice Marie (Asberry) Mercer. Shannon was of the Baptist faith and spent many years working as a dedicated farmhand. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Gayle Mercer, wife, Connie Bell, and several uncles.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Marie (Asberry) Mercer, brothers, Don Jefferson (& Lesley) Mercer, Billy (& Amanda) Mercer, all of Albany, Kentucky, nieces and nephews, Savannah Mercer, and Austin Mercer.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial was in the Five Springs Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Austin Mercer, Wyatt Whitty, John Dowdy, Eric Mercer, Josh Mercer, Justin Mercer. In lieu of flowers, contribution appreciated to the Shannon Mercer Memorial Fund, c/o Campbell-New Funeral Home.
