Ms. Ruby Jean Cooksey, age 89, of Brooks, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on October 3, 2024. Ms. Cooksey was born on March 24, 1935, to the late Estell and Cora (Key) Phillips. She worked for Goodwill Industries and was a member of Cove Baptist Church. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, sister, Ella Mae Phillips, and Marvin Eugene Cooksey.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Michael Cooksey (Debbie), Sherry Baki-Hashemi (Saeid), Teresa Cooksey, and Michele Cooksey (Mary); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Funeral service was conducted at 11 am on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Albany, KY. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 1-8 pm and Sunday from 9 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
