Mr. Roy Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his residence in Clinton County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 69 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Sunday, August 6, 1950, the son of the late Edgar and Louisa (Shelton) Cooper. He was of the Christian faith, attended Jesus Name Church, and was a pipeline construction employee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Billy Cooper, Steve Cooper, Betty Cooper, Jaunita Howe, Alice Marcum, Linda Stearns, Justine Allegree. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Faye (Hicks) Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, whom he wed on Friday, January 14, 1972, children, Tina (and Delno Denny) Cooper of Jabez, Kentucky, Marie Brown of Albany, Kentucky, Ray (and Sandy) Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, Jeff (and Sherry) Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Eva Chaplin of Monticello, Kentucky, Mackie (and Ina) Cooper of Lexington, Kentucky, Benny (and Melissa) Cooper of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, grandchildren, Trevor (and Natasha) Marcum of Albany, Kentucky, Brandon Marcum of Somerset, Kentucky, Kaitlyn Brown of Albany, Kentucky, Wyatt Brown of Albany, Kentucky, Amaira Neal of Albany, Kentucky, Kayden Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, Matthew Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, Haley (and Jayden) Thair of Albany, Kentucky, Chloe Cooper of Albany, Kentucky, three great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted on Wednesday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral home with Bro Marty Clark officiating. Special music by Nicole Chaplin. Casket bearers were Mark Stearns, Jordan Stearns, Marty Marcum, Bradley Richardson, Ronnie Guffey, Kenney Howe, Ray Cooper, Jeff Cooper. Burial was in the Davis Chapel Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Campbell-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
