Randell Groce Obituary

Mr. Randell G. Groce of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee, having attained the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 12 days. He was born on Friday, July 12, 1946, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of Melvin J. & Eva Ada (Tompkins) Groce. Randell proudly served in the United States Navy and retired as an electrician for the Corp. of Engineers. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking, especially building furniture, as his home was filled with much of his talent. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Rural Groce and Raymond Groce.


He is survived by his wife, Karen Cummings Groce, whom he wed on Saturday, August 22, 1970; children, Randy (& Stacy) Groce and David (& Cassandra) Groce, both of Richmond, Kentucky; sister, Lois (& York) Porter, of Albany, Kentucky; nieces, Michelle Porter and Lisa Burkeen; grand-children, Bethany Rose Groce, Randell Blake Groce, Rachel Lynn Groce, and Madison Brooke Groce.


The graveside service was conducted on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky with Bro. David Stearns officiating. Casket Bearers were Rod Parrish, Tanner Parrish, Chris Goodman, Blake Groce, York Porter, and Andy McBride. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude.
