Ms. Nita Faye (Piercey) Perdew departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 6:00 a.m. in Cookeville, Tennessee having attained the age of 81 years, 6 months and 6 days. Ms. Perdew was preceded in death by her father, Welby Roscoe Piercey, her mother Rena Elizabeth (Stearns) Piercey, former husband, Quentin R. Perdew. She is survived by her sons, Timothy C. Perdew, Michael Todd Perdew both of Albany, Kentucky, grandson, Andrew Quentin Perdew of Lexington, Kentucky. Ms. Perdew began teaching in 1956 at the Story School, and taught a total of 44 years all in the Clinton County School System, retiring on 2000. She was a tireless advocate for children and for education. She enjoyed the appreciation of her former students and was very active in K.E.A. serving as local K.E.A. President and as a member of numerous K.E.A. Boards. She was a dedicated Christian and attended services at First Baptist Church in Albany, Kentucky. Also survived by her furry friends, Oliver, Abagel and Cuite. Thanks to her special caregivers, Twila Conner and Loretta Sutton. Ms. Perdew requested that her body be cremated with a celebration of life Service to be held at a later date. Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky, was honored to be in charge of her arrangements.
