Junior Thacker

Mr. Junior Alvis Thacker of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his residence in Clinton County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 75 years, 1 months, and 28 days. He was born on Monday, May 29, 1950, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, the son of Thomas Randall & Laura Thacker. Junior was of the Christian faith and worked as a horse trainer, taking great pride in caring for his animals. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time fishing with his son, Thomas, and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla (Franklin) Thacker, whom he wed on Saturday, November 11, 1978, grandson, Elijah Thacker, and brother, Lloyd “Jam up” Thacker.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Thomas Thacker, brother, Walter “George” Thacker, both of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Marissa Grace Thacker, Benjamin Lee Thacker, nieces Trisha Thacker, Andrea Watson and Sharlotte Criag, and special friend, Dorthy York.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wells officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, beginning at 6:00 P.M. C.S.T., and again on Thursday morning beginning at 6:00 A.M until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
