Mr. John O. Young of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 2 days. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday, June 25, 1937, the son of Leo & Auda Belle (Pendergrass) Young. He was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Central Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, cheered passionately for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ronald A. Young, and brother, Joe Snyder.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Sue Young; daughters, Sharon (David) Kinnard of Nashville, Tennessee and Kristi Rowe of Hendersonville, Tennessee; sister, Barbara Saunders of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, Chad, Zach, Ryan, Adam, Garrett, and Landon.

A graveside service was conducted on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. at Peolia Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky, with Bro. Mike Huffaker officiating. Military Honors rendered by DAV Chapter 105 of Monticello, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were, Adam Young, Zach Young, Ryan Young, Christian Kinnard and Matthew Kinnard. In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to Central Grove Baptist Church, 1881 Central Union Road Albany, Kentucky 42602.
