Mr. Joe Kendrick Vitatoe, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Albany, Kentucky passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his residence, having attained the age of 71 years, 5 months and 11 days. He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Monday, February 27, 1950, the son of Virgil & Lyndall Marie (Wynn) Vitatoe. He was a Christian of the Baptist Faith, and attended Stony Point Baptist Church, and he was employed by the City of St. Petersburg working in parks and recreation for over 20 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Vitatoe, brothers, Ben Vitatoe, Porter Vitatoe, David Vitatoe, special nephew, Tyler Elliott.
He is survived by his sisters, Ida Lou Vitatoe of Albany, Kentucky, Annis Vitatoe of Albany, Kentucky, Donna (& Eddie) Turner of Somerset, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Lisa (& Ed) Walker of Florida, and Larry Elliott of Albany, Kentucky.
The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral of Albany, Kentucky with Rev. Jim England officiating. Casket Bearers were Wayne Vitatoe, Andy Brummett, Josh Patrick, Michael Hughes, Tyler Garrett, Steve Vitatoe, Donnie Brummett. Honorary casket bearer Larry Elliott. Special singing by David Warinner and Johnny DeRossett, accompanied on the piano by Virginia Richardson. Burial was in the Davis Chapel Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky..
