Mr. Joe Ray Parrish, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, having attained the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 11 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Tuesday, April 10, 1934, the son of the late Robert and Bertha (Claywell) Parrish. He was of the Baptist faith, a local business man, and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Dick) Parrish, siblings, Delmar "Pop" Parrish, Eugene Parrish, Truman Parrish, and Elvin "Bozo" Parrish. He is survived by his children, Cindy (and David) Staton of Albany, Kentucky, Doug (and Angie) Parrish of Lexington, Kentucky, siblings, Thelma Capps of Burkesville, Kentucky, Jerley (and Jackie) Lee of Albany, Kentucky, Maxine Tate of Albany, Kentucky, Connie (and Steve) Stearns of Albany, Kentucky, Ronnie (and Connie) Parrish of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Donnie (and Mark) Furmall of Georgetown, Indiana, Lonnie "Mote" (and Josie) Parrish of Albany, Kentucky, Helen (and Rural) Lowhorn of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Joseph Richard (and Kendra) Staton of Albany, Kentucky, Jordan (and MaKenize) Staton of Houstonville, Kentucky, Alyssa Kellie Parrish of Woodland Hills, California, Tessa Brooke Parrish of Lexington, Kentucky, Lauren Ashleigh Parrish of Lexington, Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Rylan Staton, Brooklynn Sophia Staton, Mason Dale Staton. The funeral service for Joe Ray Parrish was conducted on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Davis officiating, an eulogy was given by Bro. Garry Gupton, special singing by Dr. Carol Peddicord accompanied by Mrs. Marguerite Bertram playing piano, burial was in the Albany Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket bearers were, Joseph Staton, Jordan Staton, Dustin Lowhorn, Peyton Hatcher, Rick Parrish, Will Parrish, Brandon Ferguson, Sean Parrish, Stevie Stearns, Seth Parrish. Honorary pallbearers were, Billy Stearns, and Rylan Staton. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
