Mrs. Janet Lee (McRoy) Brannum of Byrdstown, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee, having attained the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 8 days. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, December 4, 1942, the daughter of James Lewis and Deanie Eliza (Costelow) McRoy. She was of Baptist faith and a Teacher for the Pickett County Board of Education. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie Nell (Frank) Dans, Mary Alise Thcetter, Deanna Joyce (Bernard) Fulton, four brothers, Harold Loyd (Virginna) McRoy, Robert Eugene (Sylvia) McRoy, James Donald (Mary) McRoy, Fredrick Charles McRoy, her maternal grandparents, Bud and Tennessee (Head) Costelow, paternal grandparents, Charles and Leeamdra McRoy. She is survived by her husband, Porter Cleston Brannum, her children, Melody (Brannum) Winningham, Anthony Brannum, a brother, Paul (Sharron) McRoy, six grandchildren, Tylin Winningham, Leeanndra Winningham, Joseph Brannum, Delyn Brannum, Alex Brannum, Zoie Brannum, and many other relatives and friends. A private service was held Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Campbell-New Funeral Home. Burial was in the Smyrna Cemetery in Pickett County, Tennessee. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
