Mr. James Wayne Brown, of Albany Kentucky, formerly of New Castle, Indiana, passed away, Tuesday, December 18, 2023 in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 16 days. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Sunday, November 3, 1935, the son of Charlie Taylor & Lillian Mae (Shelley) Brown. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church, worked for Chrysler, and loved coaching little league football, baseball, and basketball.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Gayron Brown, Kendrick Brown, Lorene Morrison, J.D. Brown, Glenda Lowhorn, and Vance Brown. He is survived by his wife, Evie Nell (Witham) Brown, whom he wed on Friday June 23, 1961, children, Gary (& Lori) Brown, of Greenfield, Indiana, Mark Brown, of Albany, Kentucky, Lorrecia (& Tony) Legg, of Dallas, Georgia, Dena ( & Michael) Goddard, and Donna Brown Hamblin, both of McKinney, Texas, sister, Norma (& Bobby) Wells, of Albany, Kentucky, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

          The funeral service was conducted on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wells officiating. Military Honors were provided by the Monticello DAV Chapter #105. Burial was in Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Ronnie Brown, Brock Goddard, Casey Brown, Parker Hamblin, Wayne Bond, and Bryce Legg.
