Mr. James Edwin Koger of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 30, 2020 at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron, Ohio having attained the age of 89 years, 9 months and 16 days. He was the son of the late Thomas Calvin and Mollie (Buck) Koger. . He was a member of the Beech Bottom Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran, Kentucky Colonel, and a Mason. He worked 39 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Bliss, Letha, Nancy, Harlan, Clara, Mildred, T.C., and Jay Reed. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Dodrill) Koger of Akron, Ohio, whom he wed on Wednesday, May 22, 1957, sons, James Kevin (and Debbie) Koger of Akron, Ohio, Douglas Keith (and Hollie) Koger of Nancy, Kentucky, grandchild Hunter Rainwater, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. James Edwin Koger was conducted Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. (CST) in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro Cleo Goodlett officiating. Burial was in the Beech Bottom Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket bearers were, Gary Ferguson, Jeff Covey, Micah Corey, Larry Koger, Bob Corey, and Sawyer Corey. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
