Mrs. Irene Amonett York of Albany, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Clinton County Care and Rehabilitation in Albany, having attained the age of 93 years and 12 days. She was born in Armathwaite, Tennessee on Friday, March 12, 1926, the daughter of Willie D. and Dolly (Voiles) Hassler. She was of Christian faith, a member of Westview Christian Church, member of the Homemakers Club, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Amonett, second husband, Roscoe York, son, Bennie Amonett, brother, Jay Hassler, sister, Oradean Cummings, and step-daughter, Carol Sewell. She is survived by two sons, Randall (Letha) Amonett, Jack (Phyllis) Amonett, daughter-in-law, Phyllis Amonett, two step-daughters, Kathryn (Earl) McFall, Myra (David) Moles, all of Albany, Kentucky, step-son-in-law, Johnny Sewell of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Zada Groce, Juli (Travis) Denney, Vince (Amy) Amonett, Alisha Tolbert, great-grandchildren, Bethany Jo Groce, Trevor Denney, Sienna Staley, John Staley, Brennen Amonett, Sydne (Terry) Evans, Jamison Derryberry, Reagan Amonett, Christian Derryberry, Natali Derryberry, great-great-grandson, Isaiah Harding, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, a host other relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Chaplin Michael Cooper and Bro. Gene Grasham officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Brennen Amonett, Vince Amonett, Travis Denney, Trevor Denney, David Guffey, and Greg Talbott. In lieu of flowers contributions to Clinton County Care and Rehabilitation in her name would be appreciated. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
