Mrs. Irene (Melton) Elmore of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at her residence in Albany, Kentucky having attained the age of 93 years, 0 months and 2 days. She was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Monday, April 11, 1927 the daughter of the late Richard and Nannie (Whitehead) Melton. She was of the Baptist faith, and a seamstress for Sutton Shirt Corporation. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Zack V. Elmore, daughter, Lisa Elmore, son, Donnie Elmore. She is survived by her children, Carol (and George) Corder of Monticello, Kentucky, Ray (and Vonnie) Elmore of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kaye Huffman of Albany, Kentucky, Susan (and Mike) Pierce of Albany, Kentucky, Jimmy (and Debbie) Elmore of Albany, Kentucky, Ricky (and Anita) Elmore of Jamestown, Tennessee, Michael Elmore of Albany, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. As ordered by the Governor of Kentucky, and in accordance with the CDC guidelines, all services are private, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bro. David Stearns officiated. Casket bearers were Ricky Elmore, Michael Elmore, Mike Pierce, George Corder, Amber Ferguson. Burial was in the Memorial Hills Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
