Mr. Gorden Gerald Marcum, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at The Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 14 days. He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Friday, July 29, 1945, the son of Roy E. and Addline (Guffey) Marcum. On Friday March 31, 1967, he married Lee Oma Gibbons with whom he raised a family. Mr. Marcum was of the Methodist faith and a member of Cumberland City Methodist Church. He was a farmer and had worked at Ace Hardware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell Marcum and Ronald Marcum, a sister, Phyllis Shelton, a niece, Bonnie Marcum Cowan, a nephew, Albert Gene Gibbons Jr., and a son-in-law, Ronnie Cowan.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Oma (Gibbons) Marcum of Albany, Kentucky, children, Kenny (& Jill) Marcum of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Lannie (& Melissa) Marcum, and Tammy Cowan both of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Donald (& Dorothy) Marcum, Ralph Marcum, and David (& Kathleen) Marcum, all of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Lane Marcum, Anne Marcum, Lee Marcum, Natalie Andrews, Zach Duvall, Katie UpChurch, Courtney Wilson, Jacob Marcum, Lance Carr, Sam Wardlow, Spencer Wardlow, Sydney DelaCuadra, and Tyler Schultz, 14 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service was conducted Saturday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m. CST in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky with Bro. Shane Smith and Bro. Roger Jones officiating. Casket bearers were Lee Marcum, Jacob Marcum, Dawson Marcum, Marty Marcum, Terry Marcum, Timmy Shelton, and Lucas UpChurch. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
