Mrs. Gloria Jean (Clay) Flowers of Albany, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019, at her residence in Albany, having attained the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 24 days. She was born in Mount Olive, Mississippi on Wednesday, October 7, 1942, the daughter of William Millard and Earlene (Warren) Clay. She was of Baptist faith, a member of Central Grove Baptist Church, and a telephone operator for GTE. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Ann Lynd, and niece, Jada Chloe Hendricks. She is survived by her husband, David Warren Flowers of Albany, Kentucky, whom she wed March 29, 1977, sister, Carol (James) Bradford of Wellington, Kentucky, brother, James Millard (Becky) Clay of Ashland, Ohio, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Huffaker and Bro. Larry Brown officiating. Special music was shared by June Spears. Special singing shared by Penny Russell and by the Central Grove Baptist Church Choir led by Johnny Cash with special music by Dwanna Cash. Burial was in the Irwin Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Johnny Cash, Jackie Flowers, Bob Logsdon, Jonathan Logsdon, Johnny Russell, and Jody Stockton. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
