Mr. Gerald Dean Stearns of Albany, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 21 days. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Thursday, August 21, 1930, the son of Linnie and Belva (Dicken) Stearns. He was of Baptist faith, a bus driver for Clinton County Schools, and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Alfredda (Marcum) Stearns, half-brothers and sisters, Rubenia Asher, Lela Antle, Wilburn Stearns, Margie Marcum, Clayton Stearns, Stella Hall, and Dorothy Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie Faye (Davis) Stearns, a son, Jerry Stearns, both of Albany, Kentucky, three sisters-in-law, Martha Polson of Albany, Kentucky, Judy (& Buddy) Williams of Indianapolis, Indiana, Nancy Gilbert of Albany, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 1:00 pm at the Fairland Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Jones and Bro. David Stearns officiating. Burial was in the Fairland Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Doug Lowhorn, Neli Conner, Mike Conner, Gene Hunter, Frankie Lowhorn, Jack Stearns, Wendell Tallent, and James Dicken. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
