Mr. David Ray Coop of Somerset, Kentucky passed away at the Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 having attained the age of 53 years, 11 months, and 29 days. He was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky on Monday, April, 6, 1970, the son of Ruel & Cornell (Groce) Coop. He was of the Baptist faith, a handicap driver for H & H Taxi Service, a member of Kentucky Hillbilly Jeep Krew, 606 Jeepin', enjoyed travelling ... especially to Cade's Cove, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife, Melissa Coop of Somerset, Kentucky, children, Ashley (& Brad) Lowe of Wayne County, Kentucky, Jacob (& Kendell Monday) Coop of Casey County, Kentucky, three stepsons, Cody Vaught of Somerset, Kentucky, Tyler Vaught of Perryville, Kentucky, Dustin Vaught of Somerset, Kentucky, siblings,  Doug (& Alicia) Coop of Shelby County, Kentucky, Faye Coop-Green of Breckinridge County, Kentucky, grandchildren, Hunter Lowe, Laney Coop, and step grandson, Salem Vaught.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the chapel of the Campbell-New Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Langford officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Campbell-New Funeral Home to help defray final expenses.
