Ms. Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Parrish) Staton of Hustonville, Kentucky, formerly of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 64 years, 8 months, and 1 day. She was born in Albany, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 14, 1960, the daughter of Joe Ray & Ann (Dick) Parrish. Cindy was strong-willed and compassionate, the kind of person who could bring life to any conversation. She had a laugh that filled the room and a love for looking her best: shopping, keeping her nails done, and making sure her hair and makeup were just right. She loved being trendy, but even more than that, she loved being with her people. Her love for gardening, passed down from her dad, grew into a passion for farming with her family. You could often find her at the farmers market, or selling at her roadside stand proud of what they had raised. Cindy also had a deep love for animals —dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, cows… you name it, she welcomed them into her life. Still, her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She loved the simple moments too: riding along with her lifelong partner, David, visiting with friends and family, and making holidays special because if Cindy was there, you knew you were getting the best dressing you’d ever had. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, and brother, Douglas Ray Parrish.
She is survived by her husband, David Staton, whom she wed in December of 1978, sons, Joe (& Kendra) Staton, and Jordan (& MaKenzie) Staton, grandchildren, Rylan Staton, Brooklynn Staton, Mason Staton, Emerson Staton, Wyatt Staton, and Renli Staton.
The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. C.S.T. in The Memory Chapel of the Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Holbrook, and Bro. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial was in the Piercy Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Dustin Lowhorn, Mark Bell, Chris Smith, Bart Woodrum, Matt Wood, Eddie Baker, Joe Staton, David Staton and Jordan Staton. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Cindy Staton Memorial Fund c/o Campbell-New Funeral Home.
