Bro. Carl Roger Cross, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence in Albany, Kentucky having attained the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 18 days. He was born on Tuesday, April 4, 1950, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of Robert Elmer and Jamie Eva (Murphy) Cross. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Dicken Chapel Church, and a minister at Dicken Chapel Church for many, many years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Winfred Cross, Lloyd Cross, Gendalene Griffin, Mary Dean Smith, Esther Sue Garrett, grandson, Jabarri Slade Cross, and a son-in-law, James Ford.
He is survived by his spouse, Elaine (Bilbrey) Cross of Albany, Kentucky, whom he wed on Saturday, April 14, 1973, children, Tonya (& John) Sidock of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Jennifer Cross (& Tony Robinson) of Cookeville, Tennessee, Jeremy (& Laurie) Cross of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Becky (& Leon) Daniels of Albany, Kentucky, Shirley (& Wayne) Hickman of Albany, Kentucky, Robert Cross of Columbia, Kentucky, Earnest Cross of Albany, Kentucky, Allen (& Nancy) Cross of Albany, Kentucky, Scott Cross of Albany, Kentucky, Laura Ellen Richwine of Indiana, grandchildren, Jordon (& Rob) Cross, Celena (& Brad) Stephens, Kristin (& DaKota) Ford, Matthew (& Joni) Ford, Logan Cross, Japeth Cross, Dana Sidock, J.J. (& Meghan) Sidock, Jessica (& Isaiah) Dalton, Daniel Durban, great-grandchildren, Canyon Amox, Jolynn Sidock, Tobin Sharpe, Zander Sidock, Bentley Root, Joshua Webb, DaKota Durban, Braelyn Ford, along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of church family and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dicken Chapel Church in Clinton County, Kentucky with Bro. Joe Bryant, Bro. Rodney Thrasher, Bro. Phillip Miller, and Bro Tim Beaty officiating. Casket bearers were Jason Cross, Johnathon Cross, Justin Cross, J.J. Sidock, Dakota Henry, and Mitchell Albertson. Burial was in the Highway Cemetery. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
