Mr. Bobby H. Sawyers, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at his residence in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 8 days. He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Friday, July 19, 1935, the son of Jess and Ann (Grider) Sawyers. On August 12, 1955, he married Barbara Jean Garner with whom he raised a family. Mr. Sawyers was a Christian and a member of Lands Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a well known farmer in Clinton County and had a passion for driving mules and horses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Ray, a brother, Ken Sawyers, and a sister Jena Rose Ferguson.

     He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Garner) Sawyers, daughter, Brenda (& Delmer) Vitatoe, siblings, Jim (& Betty) Sawyers, Sally (& Jimmy) Guffey, grandchildren, Clint (& Allison) Ray, Lindsey (& Seth) Stonecipher, Stuart (& Laura) Vitatoe all of Albany, Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Noah Stonecipher, Cain Ray, Walker Vitatoe, Alexandra Ray, and Lucas Vitatoe, other family and many friends.

     The Funeral Service was conducted on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. CST in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky, with Bro. Joe Summers and Bro. Dennis Kaiser officiating. Casket bearers were Stuart Vitatoe, Clint Ray, Seth Stonecipher, Jimmy Sawyers, Logan Hansford, Kenny Lee, Franky Hansford, Robert Hansford, Kent Sawyers, Joe Ray. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Hospital.
