Mrs. Bernice (Brown) Shelton of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at her residence in Clinton County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 86 years, 2 months and 24 days. She was born in the Nora Community of Clinton County, Kentucky on Sunday, October 11, 1936, the daughter of Collis and Edith Nell (Bertram) Brown. She was a Christian woman of the Methodist faith, member of the Cumberland City Methodist Church, and was a loving homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Shelton, whom she wed on Saturday, June 25, 1955, and he passed on Thursday, November 6, 2014, sons, Eddie Shelton and Randy A. Shelton, brothers, Donald Glen Brown and Rex Brown.
She is survived by her children, Collis Shelton, Frankie (& Mike) Garner, Teresa Cole, Lisa (& Freddy) Smith all of Albany, Kentucky, brother, David Brown of Ohio, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky, with Bro. Shane Smith officiating, Dr. Carol Peddicord, and Hannah Campbell provided special music. Casket bearers were Justin Shelton, Hunter Winnans, Ethan Shelton, Quincey Guffey, Wayne Shelton, Matt Fenner, and Jessica Shelton. Burial was in the Davis Chapel Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Campbell-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
